Alessandro Vantini is an internationally celebrated filmmaker, director, and actor known for blending mythology, memory, and philosophy into powerful cinematic experiences. His work moves between film, theatre, and opera — turning performance into ritual and storytelling into reflection.
Trained at the Duse Studio in Rome and the Actors Studio in New York, Vantini brings together classical discipline and artistic innovation. He has worked with directors like Dino Risi, Carlo Lizzani, and Edouard Molinaro, and starred in over 30 major stage roles, including Prospero, Oedipus, and God.
His 2018 film Nothing Beyond Measure (Antigone) earned 157 international awards. Other notable works include The Guardian of the Ice (2017) and A Sud del Sud (2014), praised for their poetic and spiritual depth.
Vantini is currently completing his most ambitious project yet — a 9-hour, 9-episode epic titled Thought Is Blood Around the Heart (also known as Hamlet or the Immortality of the Soul). Inspired by Hamlet, Oedipus, and Nietzsche, the work explores conscience, divinity, and the unseen through image, movement, and breath.
